The systematization of experiences for reflection on extension practices, the case of AJO SC

In the AER INTA La Consulta we began a process of systematization of the experience “Amigos Jornaleros Organizados de San Carlos” (AJO SC), originated in the year 2004. The initial idea of this project was to add value through the cutting and cleaning garlic, Training unoccupied people to do this, from that moment until the present the experience went through different stages and reconfigurations. The systematization process was carried out according to the “Guía metodológica de Sistematización de experiencias de Desarrollo Rural” prepared by the “Ministerio de Agricultura, Ganadería y Pesca” (2011). A systematization team was formed included the participation of the members of AJO SC, secondary information was collected and methods of qualitative data collection were applied. At least two stages were well differentiated in terms of the extension process, an initial one with a very technological proposal but at the same time very little permeable, arising from the field of the researchers and a later stage where the project was re-elaborated in form Jointly with the workers, which generated greater commitment and appropriation of the space. The new proposal was more appropriate to the actual working conditions, so that the objectives could be met within a shorter period. The systematization was a very interesting methodology to build knowledge from the practices of extension. It allowed us to reflect with all those involved in the process. The knowledge built serves all participants in the process, not just those who have the role of extensionists.
