Recent history of argentine´s Rural Extension (1983-2016): a reading through the AADER´s National Conferences
The National Conferences organized by the Argentine Rural Extension Association (AADER) have been the main forum for discussion on the subject for more than 30 years. This association has demonstrated convening capacity to promote theoretical discussions and critical analysis of a large number of intervention experiences. That is why we understand that they constitute a valid reference space for understanding and studying Rural Extension in Argentina. In this context, the objective of this work has been to characterize the evolution of Rural Extension of our country in the last 30 years. To do this, we analyzed the dissertations, panels, conferences and papers presented in the different conferences held during the period from 1983 to 2016. In order to analyze the content, the main categories we considered were: general theme proposed by the organizers, institutional membership of the participants, general characteristics of the papers presented (quantity, category), recurrent and emerging themes and concepts, among other variables. There has been an evolution of the presentations, from the account of experiences of field work, to manifestations with greater level of theoretical reflection and in the form of investigations, which indicate a growing professionalism. At the same time, we observe that the concepts, objectives and strategies in the studied documents have been changing by the compass of the historical and political moments of our country, and they graph the different paradigms of development and rural extension that have been disputed hegemony during the period analyzed.
