Alkali-tolerant mycobiota of Distichlis spicata (Poaceae) litter in alkaline soils from Buenos Aires Province: enzymatic ability
Elíades, Lorena A.; Natalia Ferreri; Ana M. Bucsinszky; Mario C. N. Saparrat; Marta N. Cabello. 2014. “Alkali-tolerant mycobiota of Distichlis spicata (Poaceae) litter in alkaline soils from Buenos Aires Province: enzymatic ability”. Lilloa 51 (1). Distichlisspicata (L.) Greene (salt grass, Poaceae) is the dominant plant species growing in alkali/sodic soils in the district of Magdalena (Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina). Dried plants of D. spicata from land cover were collected in two sampling (autumn and spring 2009) and processed to isolate and characterize the associated mycobiota. A screening for ?–rhamnosidase, ?–glucosidase, amylases, proteases, cellulases and chitinases in selected isolates was made. The aim of this contribution is to provide knowledge of the fungal community associated with D. spicata (Poaceae) litter, from saline/sodic soils and their enzymatic abilities. This paper expands on 8 the number of species colonizing leaves of D. spicata. Ten species showed alkaline enzymatic abilities with potential in several technological areas
