Nyctaginaceae de Hidalgo, México

NINE GENERA, 18 SPECIES, AND THREE VARIETIES OF NYCTAGINACEAE ARE REPORTED TO OCCUR IN THE STATE OF HIDALGO, MEXICO. MIRABILIS IS THE MOST WIDESPREAD AND DIVERSE GENUS WITH SEVEN SPECIES AND TWO VARIETIES: ALLIONIA, BOERHAVIA AND BOUGAINVILLEA ARE REPRESENTED BY TWO SPECIES, WHEREAS CYPHOMERIS, COMMICARPUS, PISONIA, PISONIELLA AND SALPIANTHUS HAVE ONE SPECIES EACH. A KEY TO THE IDENTIFICATION OF THESE TAXA AS WELL AS STANDARDIZED DESCRIPTIONS ARE PROVIDED. DISTRIBUTION HABITAT COMMON NAMES AND USES IN HIDALGO FOR THE SPECIES ARE GIVEN. IN HIDALGO THE FAMILY IS MAINLY DISTRIBUTION OF ALLIONIA INCARNATE VAR INCARNATE IN NORTH AMERICA. THIS TAXON IS RECORDED FROM SONORA AND JALISCO FOR THE FIRST TIME.
