On the discovery of a Gynandromorph of the genus Dactylobaetis (Ephemeroptera, Baetidae) in Uruguay

Reviewing the Ephemeroptera collection of the University of the Republic of Uruguay, a specimen of the genus Dactylobaetis was found that presented both male and female characters. A single specimen was found and no males of the same species appeared in the sample with which to compare it. This gynandromorphic specimen does not match any of the descriptions made by J.R. Traver & G.F. Edmunds Jr. (1968, Pac. Insects 10 (34): 629-677) in their review of the species of the genus. Therefore, this specimen has been compared with the description made for the genus, and with specimens of other species, to deduce the male or female parts.
