Capítulo X: habilidad combinatoria para el carácter producción por planta y sus componentes primarios en un cruzamiento dialélico de siete líneas de tomate "Chonto" Lycopersicon esculentum, Mill

An analysis combining ability of traits related with production per plant was carried out using a diallel crossing between different "Chonto" tomato cultivar, Lycopersicon esculentum Mill (seven parents and 21 F1 hybrids from all possible crossing in one direction), according to the methodology proposed by Griffing (1956), selecting experimental method 2, and model 1. Significant differences were found for the two types of combining ability (g.c.a. and s.c.a.) on the expression of the characters production per plant, fruits per plant and fruit mean weight. A non-additive gene action was prevailing for the characters production per plant and fruit mean weight. Hybrids Licapal-21 x Raminho, Angela Gigante x 1258 and Angela Gigante x Raminho, exhibited high s.c.a. effects and heigh mean production per plant.
