The clay nail dates to the reign of Gudea during the Second Dynasty of Lagaš during the Neo-Sumerian period (circa 22nd century BCE), and records the building of the temple of the god Nindara in the city of Girsu. A transcription, transliteration and English translation of the inscription are provided. The paper further includes discussions on Nindara and the temples of this god.
