Two trials were designed to test the effect of picloram + 2,4-D amina and 2,4,5-T herbicides on Sida spp., a common broad leaf weed of tropical pasture. In the first trial, doses of 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0% were applied to uncut weed plants and compared to cutting with machete used a control. In the following trial, treatments were single applications of 0.5 and 1.0% herbicides to cut (30 and 60 days regrowth) and uncut weed plants. Significant differences were found (p<.05) between herbicides, being 2,4,5-T more effective than picloram + 2,4-D amina. Both herbicides were significantly (p<.05) better than machete cut checking weed regrowth (average control, 93.4%). In the second trial, 2,4,5-T was significantly better than picloram + 2,4-D amina. however, no differences were found (p>.05), regarding days of regrowth, doses and interaction.
