INTERPRETATION OF GENOTYPE-ENVIRONMENT INTERACTION AND OUTCOME RELIABILITY OF FIVE CORN HYBRIDS IN 30 ENVIRONMENTS. AZUERO, PANAMA. 2001-2003.

Five corn hybrids were studied in the Regional corn trial of IDIAP since 2001 to 2003. Thirty seven genotypes in 30 environments were evaluated in this period. An AMMI variance analysis, reliability analysis or normalized responses (RNi), stability analysis with GGESREG Biplot were carried out. The RNi value represented the probability of a specific genotype increase the tester yield. The GGE Biplot, allowed visualize: the similarities and differences among genotypes and environments and the genotypes differential response; the interaction nature and magnitude of any genotype with any locality. The reliability analysis outcomes identified to white corn hybrids PB-0103 and PB-0105 like the best performance, indeed, it was recommended its register and commercialization on the country. According to GGE Biplot Model, it was observed a significant effect with the planting dates over localities yield, under 2002 climatic conditions, in the rneantime 2001 and 2003 presented similar conditions. The GGE Biplot Model allowed plotting simple genotype-environment interaction graphics, localizing genotypes according its environments yields responses and positioning the localities according it discriminatory capacity, simplifying its interpretation. Both analysis allowed verifying X-1358K continued been a current and competitive regional tester, due to its high production and its good stability.

Both analysis allowed verifying X-1358K continued been a current and competitive regional tester, due to its high production and its good stability.
