INFLUENCE OF ZEOLITE AND PHOSPHORIC ROCK OVER SORGHUM AND POTATOES CROPS

The objective of the present study was to evaluate the influence of the mixture of phosphoric rock with zeolite and its effect on the sorghum and potato crops. The use of this mixture may be an alternative replacement imported phosphate fertilizers. The zeolite of the location of Tasajera and the phosphoric rock of Trinidad of Guedes were characterized. In 2012, an experiment with sorghum was installed at the Soil Institute of La Habana, in porcelain gavel with 7 kg of capacity using a Inceptisol soil, extracted from 20 cm of depth and sifted at 5 mm. It was used totally randomized design with five treatments (NPK; NK + 2 g of mixture; NK + 3 g; NK + 4 g and NK + 5 g) and four repetitions, the mixture contained a radio 1:1 (phosphoric rock-zeolite). Also, an experiment with potatoes was run in Oxisoles from Quivican soil, Mayabeque province, Cuba, using statistical design of block at random with four treatments (0; 0,5; 1,0 and 1,5 t.ha-¹ of the mixture), the data were evaluated by means of multiple range test of Duncan for P ≤ 0,05. The mixture was incorporated during soil preparation at 10 cm of depth in the groove. The obtained results indicate that the phosphoric rock mixture allows reaching yield increments of the studied crops and improve soil variables and leaf index.
