LIFE AND FERTILITY TABLES OF Acanthoscelides obtectus AND Zabrotes subfasciatus (COLEOPTERA:BRUCHIDAE) FOR THREE CONSECUTIVE GENERATIONS IN LINES AND CULTIVARS OF DRY BEAN
The objective of this research was to observe the population development of Acanthoscelides obtectus (Say) and Zabrotes subfasciatus (Boh.) during three generations in two resistant genetic materials of bean Phaseolus vulgaris L.: Canario-107 and APN-38. Negro-Puebla and APN-17 bean materials were used as susceptible controls. Agespecific fertility tables were used to estimate the following population parameters: net reproduction rate (Ro), intrinsic rate of population growth (rm), and generation time (G). The intrinsic rate of population growth of A. obtectus and Z. subfasciatus the same statistical value from the first to the third generation in the resistant materials; meanwhile in Negro-Puebla and APN-17, this parameter increased from the first to the third generation.
