Costos de producción 2020 para empresas benchmark de la agroindustria de la palma en Colombia: 2020 production costs for benchmark companies of the Colombian Oil Palm Agroindustry

This paper presents the results of a benchmarking study carried out in 2021 on year 2020 production costsof oil palm crops from Colombia (27 plantations) and, palm oil mills from Colombia (18 oil palm mills). Regarding the methodology, it was used the approach proposed by Mosquera et al. (2020). The data gathered corresponds to 8% of the oil palm cropped area and 31% of the FFB processed in Colombia. Results indicated that, the averages 2020 of crop yields were 25.6 t FFB.ha (5 t CPO.ha) for E. guineensis crops and, 27.4 t FFB. ha (6.4 t CPO.ha) in hybrid OxG crops. Additionally, unit production costs for E. guineensis crops were estimated at COP 296,521 per ton of FFB (COP 1,5 million per ton of CPO). Unit costs for hybrid OxG crops were estimated at COP 294,455 per ton of FFB (COP 1,49 million per ton of CPO).
