The role of forest management in the sustainable of the Ejido Tres Garantias, Quintana Roo, México

Resumen en inglés: "Recent reforms to article 27 of the mexican constitution changed the original concept of the ejido in México, allowing privatization. This article argues that ejidos dependent on forest resources, who have sustainable management plans, and was necessary to measure sustainable development. For this, an operational definition o f sustainable development is presented, based on the integration on the three factors that shape the structure and function of the ejido and its dependence on forest resources. Those factors are: ecological, socioeconomical and technological. The case study was carried out at the ejido Tres Garantías in Quintana Roo, México. The resuhs show a dynamic equilibrium o f the three factors which is interpreted as sustainable development. "
