Ventajas comparativas y política agrícola para la producción de trigo en Ecuador
This study examines three interrelated subjects: the decrease of wheat production and increasing wheat imports in Ecuador, the feasibility of wheat production in this country from the point of view of resource use efficiency, and the analysis of the policy incentives and technological change needed to promote domestic wheat production. To examine these problems, a case study was carried out in northern Ecuador using a framework of comparative advantage. Implications for policy and for research allocation are also discussed
