MLN screening facility at KALRO-Naivasha, Kenya

Maize Lethal Necrosis Virus due to combined infection of MCMV and any of the potyvirus (SCMV) reported in 2011 is a major transboundary disease, reported in 2011. CIMMYT – KALRO MLN screening facility was established in 2013 in Naivasha to develop and deploy MLN-resistant hybrids. The facility supports CGIAR and other public and private partners to screen the germplasm with stringent quarantine procedures.
