Support for the International Centres by Institutes in the Donor Countries
Paper by H. C. Pereira on the support IARCs receive from advanced research institutes (ARI) in donor countries. It stresses the efficiency and cost effectiveness of cooperative research that requires the use of the sophisticated laboratories and facilities maintained by ARIs. Pereira speculates that there is much more capability available in the developed countries than centers can use. He suggests encouraging donors to support the relationships without creating any special mechanisms.The paper was prepared for discussion at TAC 11.
