Multiplying the message
Face to face contact with people can be an effective way to inform, educate or train others. It can be a means of encouraging sustainable development as it is the people who have to sustain change. Using media to help people become skilled or active requires a different approach to using many of the familiar media, particularly where the people who are to benefit are illiterate or semi-educated. The handbook Appropriate media for training and development presents ideas and techniques which can be used to communicate, educate and train for third world development. The material was developed from training workshops for trainers. The ideas and approaches have been tried out in practice and the feedback on appropriateness has been incorporated. The handbook is about ways of making communication effective. This involves using design and illustration materials and media that can be printed, reproduced or broadcast so that many people can share and use them; it stresses low cost approaches. The book is generously illustrated with appropriate line drawings that graphically highlight each point made in the text as well as demonstrate methods to employ. description |
This involves using design and illustration materials and media that can be printed, reproduced or broadcast so that many people can share and use
them; it stresses low cost approaches. The book is generously illustrated with appropriate line drawings that graphically highlight each point made in the text as well as demonstrate methods to employ.
