An experiment on the use of hormone in the propagation of coffee by cuttings

1. Rootone treatment induced early callus formation, development of more roots and greater growth and vigor in coffee cuttings as shown in tables 1, 2, and 3. 2. Hardwood treated coffee cuttings as a whole were the best among the three kinds of cuttings in the rate of callus formation, earliness and degree of root development, and in number and length of buds produced. The hardwood cuttings were hardy and remained fresh longer. 3. Medium hardwood cuttings could be used for propagation, if they are treated with rootone. Stems or cuttings which possessed flower buds wilted earlier than cutting without flower buds
