Witches' broom disease; a case study
The author discusses first the causal agent (Crinipellis perniciosa) of witches' broom disease of cacao and its behaviour, and in a second part describes how high standards of management in a plantation in Ecuador which failed to take into account the presence of the disease ended in disaster.
