Evaluación de un sistema maíz-maíz en callejones de Erythrina poeppigiana con diferentes espaciamientos

Corn was planted twice a year for seven years, in alleys of Erythrina poeppigiana at 6 x 1, 6 x 2, 6 x 3 and 6 x 4 m with no fertilizer, and pure stands of corn with and without fertilizer. Corn in alley cropping yieled consistently more than in pure stand with no fertilizer and the same as corn alone with fertilizer. Rows of corn nearer the rows of trees had the lowest yields in 6 x 1 and 6 x 2 m spacings and the highest in 6 x 3 and 6 x 4 m. The biomass produced by the trees ranged from 4,2 to 10 ton/ha/year.
