Brazilian perspectives in agricultural negotiations and the impact of the Uruguay Round on agriculture in MERCOSUR

This article comments the challenge was even greater in Brazil because of the high efficiency of Argentina and Uruguay in some products. With MERCOSUR, Brazil became a net importer of agricultural and agro-industrial goods from its subregional partners. In Brazil, the greatest impact was in the Southern Region and affected mainly: wheat, rice, dairy products. (MV)
