The morphologic variability and genetics of the Bolivian National Cacao (BNC), wild and cultivated, were analyzed. 164 genotypes of BNC with different level of domestication (57 wild and 107 cultivated) and 61 producer's farms elite selections of the cooperative El Ceibo, Bolivia were evaluated. 13 variables of fruit and seed in situ were measured. Univariate analysis of variance (ANOVA) and multivariate analysis of variance (principal components, conglomerates, canonical discriminant) were done, in order to identify the variables which have more power to discriminate groups and collection places. The quality of 12 wild and cultivated cacao was examined. It is concluded that the Bolivian wild cocoa is different to the genetic acknowledged complexes. It is recommended to compare river Beni genotypes with wild cacao of Itenes's region and river Mamore in Bolivia and with genotypes of National Cacao of Ecuador, to preserve this material for future research works and studies of diseases tolerance.Tesis (M.
